Polymeric Nanocapsule Enhances the Peroxidase-like Activity of Fe3O4 Nanozyme for Removing Organic Dyes

Peroxidase-like nanozymes are nanoscale materials that can closely mimic the activity of natural peroxidase for a range oxidation reactions. Surface coating with polymer nanogels has been considered to prevent aggregation nanozymes. For long time, understanding largely limited its stabilization effect on nanozyme in aqueous media, while little is known about how plays role interaction substrates and primary oxidants dictate catalytic process. This work reported facile sequential modification Fe3O4 nanoparticles polyacrylamide coated nanozymes, as low 112 mg/L samples only 5 could nearly quantitatively (99%) remove library organic dyes either H2O2 or Na2S2O8 oxidants. The results molecular simulation provide both experimental computational evidence hydrogen bonding between reactant key high local concentration hence efficiency. We envision this work, first provides some insights into enhancing apart from well-known water dispersity effect.
